Meet the talented team below and learn more about the people who will be leading the charge in supporting our alumni network.
Antoinette Bright, Secretary
Antoinette is excited to join the Skills Initiative Alumni Advisory Council, believing deeply in its mission to support the community. As an alumna, she has firsthand experience with the program’s impact on career growth, particularly through her work in securing externships for the Medical Assistant program at Penn Medicine. With a strong knack for interpersonal skills and passion for connecting with others, Antoinette is eager to contribute to the council while continuing her own professional journey.
Tyrone Waters, Treasurer
Tyrone sites the Skills Initiative to be a program that has profoundly shaped his personal and professional life. Having completed two cohorts, Tyrone gained leadership skills and confidence, which he now uses to help others. His empathy and communication abilities have made him a standout healthcare professional and community advocate, and he’s excited to help fellow alumni grow just as he has.
Megan Lawrence, Engagement Liaison
Megan is thrilled to serve as the Engagement Liaison for the Alumni Advisory Council. The Pathway to Promotion program helped her secure two promotions and begin her MBA, and now she wants to help others experience similar success. With leadership experience and a passion for connecting people with resources, Megan is dedicated to making a positive impact on the alumni network.
Laura Bien-Aime, Newsletter Liaiso
Meet Laura, the new Newsletter Liaison! Since 2017, the Skills Initiative has been a key part of her professional and personal growth. Laura has a nursing background and expertise in health promotion, and she is excited to give back to the alumni network. She’s eager to use her skills in problem-solving and advocacy to help shape the future of alumni engagement and support the Skills Initiative’s mission.
Jescica Johnson-Robinson, Social Media Liaison
Jescica is the new Social Media Liaison for the Alumni Advisory Council. Having benefited from the Skills Initiative herself, she understands the value of support networks and wants to help others navigate their career journeys. With a background in education, communications, and customer service, Jescica is passionate about fostering stronger ties within the alumni community and engaging with everyone on social media.
Felicia Tucker, Vice President
Felicia is thrilled to join the Alumni Advisory Council team, and help empower the next generation of leaders. As an alum, she’s seen the transformative power of the Skills Initiative firsthand. With her strategic leadership and expertise in networking and communication, Felicia is dedicated to advancing the mission of the Skills Initiative and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly for underrepresented groups.
Daymond Garner, President
Daymond is proud to serve as President of the Alumni Advisory Council. He’s passionate about connecting with fellow alumni and creating events that provide valuable resources for their growth. Known for his creative and unconventional approach, Daymond brings fresh ideas to the table, and an ability to inspire and engage others. He’s ready to bring this energy!
