In August of 2026, The Skills Initiative was awarded two grants totaling $100,000 that will help fuel our efforts to connect Philadelphians to meaningful employment.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Citizens for their generous grant of $75,000 to The Skills Initiative. This contribution is the third donation of $75,000 Citizens has gifted to our program over the last three years, and brings their total support to $750,000 since the start of our program.
Citizens is dedicated to funding programs that enhance the quality of life in our communities, particularly those that focus on workforce development, financial education, and empowerment. They have a stated goal to partner with organizations that equip individuals with the skills and resources they need to thrive in Philadelphia’s growing economy.
We also received a $25,000 grant from the PNC Foundation. This funding, the first we’ve received from PNC, will go toward supporting stipends for Skills Initiative participants while they are training and coaching for program graduates after they’ve been connected to employment.
